{November 11, 2008}   Ancient Filipinos System of Writing

“Like the rest of the ancient people in the neighboring lands, the ancient Filipinos had a system of writing called a Syllabary. Its origin may probably be traced to that of sanskrit from India or of Arabic provenance. It consisted of seventeen symbols, of which three were vowel symbols and fourteen were consonants.”
